GALLETAS DE AVENA

by Fer Medina

I love cookies and especially oatmeal ones due to its main ingredient properties. Oatmeal is depurative, thanks to its large amount of amino acids and the fiber it contains that helps eliminate toxins and fats from our body; It is also a source of high biological value proteins, since it contains 8 essential amino acids. Also, it helps reduce “bad” cholesterol thanks to omega 3 and linoleic fatty acids, helping our heart and the functioning of the brain. On the other hand, oatmeal cookies are rich in group B vitamins, which helps the functioning of the nervous system.

My favorite recipe for these cookies is super simple and I’ll leave it below:

  • Preparation:

In a bowl mix the oat flakes, the flour, the brown sugar, the yeast and the salt. In another container mix the eggs, the oil and the essence and incorporate it into the previous mixture. When you have a homogeneous mixture, form balls, crush them with your hand and place them on a baking sheet. Bake at 180ºC, about 12 minutes or until you see that the edges are golden. Take them out and leave them on a grid. Once they are cold they will finish hardening and they will be ready to be enjoy.
