LA PRIMERA CAMPAÑA DE NATACHA RAMSAY-LEVI PARA CHLOÉ

by Fer Medina

Natacha Ramsay-Levi presents her first campaign for the design house plus a short film, directed by Steven Meisel, and a series of still images that have been taken from her, without a doubt an elaborated vision that shows what she has prepared for Chloé.

She explains: “Women have a past, they have emotions, they have cracks, and the woman Chloé is not a ghost”. “She has something very real, and here we wanted to take that reality to a new level, I felt that, in a classical session, we could not get that depth.” The analogy, “from the perspective of someone looking at a woman on the street, trying to understand who they are,” could hardly be more appropriate; It’s just what she’s been doing in the brand for nine months.

There is, of course, no bigger name for her first campaign than Meisel, as Ramsay-Levi says, “he’s the reference of a fashion photographer,” and the two already had a working relationship, getting to know each other while she was working for Nicolas Ghesquière in Balenciaga. But beyond that, “I wanted to work with someone who has a vision, but who also deals with the personality of a woman” she said.

Ramsay-Levi comments that this collection is “it’s very real, it’s on the street, it’s not in a fantastic world”. They are shoes and bags, and dresses made to be lived.
