STUART WEITZMAN, MICHAEL KORS Y BURBERRY YA NO TRABAJARÁN CON MARIO TESTINO

El pasado sábado 13 de enero, el New York Times publicó un artículo detallado con afirmaciones hechas por 13 modelos y ex asistentes en las que acusan de agresión sexual a Mario Testino.

Testino ha negado las acusaciones y su equipo legal está desafiando la credibilidad de quienes hicieron las afirmaciones, agregando que “no se pueden considerar fuentes confiables”. Los abogados también dijeron que ex-empleados de Testino estaban “conmocionados por las acusaciones” y “no pudieron confirmar ninguna de las afirmaciones”.

En el medido del revuelo debido a las acusaciones por mala conducta sexual, Burberry, Michael Kors y Stuart Weitzman se han comprometido a no volver a trabajar con Mario Testino; quien es famosamente conocido por sus campañas de moda de lujo, y por trabajar con la familia real.

La directora ejecutiva y presidente de Stuart Weitzman, Wendy Kahn, dijo que la marca no trabajará con Testino en el “futuro previsible”. Testino trabajó con ellos en varias de las campañas de la marca de calzado, protagonizadas por Gigi Hadid, Joan Smalls y Lily Aldridge.

Michael Kors prometió dejar de trabajar con el fotógrafo: “Recientemente nos enteramos de las acusaciones sobre Mario Testino. A la luz de la seriedad de estas acusaciones, no trabajaremos con el Sr. Testino en futuras campañas publicitarias”.

Burberry, no ha trabajado con Testino desde 2016, pero en un comunicado dijo: “Tomamos las denuncias de esta naturaleza muy en serio. Stuart Weitzman’s chief executive officer and brand president, Wendy Kahn, said that the brand will not work with Testino for the “foreseeable future”. Testino worked with them in several of the footwear brand’s campaigns, which have starred Gigi Hadid, Joan Smalls, and Lily Aldridge.

Michael Kors vowed to stop working with the photographer: “We recently learned of the allegations concerning Mario Testino. In light of the seriousness of these accusations, we will not be working with Mr. Testino on future advertising campaigns.”

Burberry, hasn’t worked with Testino since 2016, but in a statement, said: “We take allegations of this nature very seriously. Burberry is committed to providing a just, safe and fair working environment and we have a zero-tolerance policy against any form of harassment, abuse or discrimination. The safety, security and welfare of the people with whom we work is a priority for Burberry and we seek to ensure all our partners adhere to our principles and policies and comply with all applicable laws and regulations”.
